If you need a part that does not exist yet, this is the work we do. Describe the problem — you do not need a drawing, a file, or the right vocabulary. We handle the design and we make the part.

What we take on

  • Brackets and mounts — holding something in a specific place, at a specific angle.
  • Enclosures and housings — for electronics, instruments, or equipment that needs protecting.
  • Jigs and fixtures — shop tooling, alignment guides, drilling templates, assembly aids.
  • Replacement parts — for equipment where the original is discontinued or was never sold separately.
  • Short production runs — from one part to a few hundred.
  • Adapters — making two things fit that were never designed to.

What we don't

Being straight about this saves us both time, and there is usually a better option than us.

  • Anything where failure could injure someone — parts that carry a person's weight, anything critical to a vehicle's operation, and medical applications. These need certified engineering, not a print studio.
  • Copies of branded or patented parts. If it has someone else's logo on it, we can't reproduce it.
  • Parts larger than roughly 340 × 320 × 340 mm. Bigger than that and you want a large-format bureau — happy to point you at one.
  • Runs above a few hundred units. At that volume injection moulding will beat us on price and we will tell you so.

Material

Our default is PETG-CF — carbon-fibre reinforced PETG. It stays dimensionally stable in a hot garage or a vehicle, where the PLA most print shops use will soften and sag. It is stiffer than standard PETG and it takes threaded metal inserts reliably, so parts can be bolted together and taken apart again.

Where the job needs more than that, we run engineering polymers — nylon, polycarbonate, and high-temperature resins on enclosed, hardened-nozzle machines. Tell us what the part has to survive and we'll tell you what it should be made from, and why.

PETG-CFThe default. Heat and load — garages, vehicles, anywhere PLA gives up. Takes threaded inserts well.
ABS / ASAOutdoors in direct sun. Holds colour and surface where PETG fades.
PC — polycarbonateImpact. Parts that have to survive a real drop or strike, not just hold a static load.
PA-CF / PA-GF — fibre-filled nylonSolvents, oils, and fuels. Also the pick when a part has to mate precisely and hold that fit over time.
PPA-CF / PPA-GFSustained heat beyond what PETG-CF or ASA will take.
PPSThe top of the range — highest heat resistance and chemical resistance we run. For parts that live somewhere genuinely hostile.
TPUGenuine flex. Rubber-like parts, gaskets, and dampers — not a rigid material that tolerates bending.

The high-temperature and fibre-filled materials need an enclosed chamber and a hardened nozzle, which is why most print services won't quote them. Ours will.

What it costs to start

Design is charged separately from production. The figures below are the design fee — what it takes to get to a finished, proven file. Production is quoted on material, machine time, and quantity once we know what we're making.

A quote holds for 30 days. Custom work is non-returnable once you've approved the design, so approval is the point at which we both commit.

The 4MA system is a modular organizing platform for cycling kit that we designed, engineered, and manufacture ourselves — threaded hardware interfaces, mounts that hold under load, and tolerances held across a catalogue of parts that all have to fit each other. It is the clearest thing we can show you, because we did every part of it: design, CAD, production, finishing, packaging, and standing behind it afterwards.
